Obsah:
Příběh se odehrává ve Francii 14. století a je o posledním, oficiálním, Francií posvěceném duelu mezi dvěma muži. Jean de Carrouges ((Matt Damon - )) a Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) jsou přátelé, ze kterých se stanou rivalové. Středobodem jejich pře je Marguerite (Jodie Comer), žena Carrougese. Tu Le Gris dle jejích slov napadne, ona ho veřejně obviní, jenže on tvrdí, že je nevinný. Carrouges začne bránit čest své ženy a výsledkem je duel s tím nejvyšším rizikem – smrtí. V případě prokázání nevinny Le Grise navíc Marguerite hrozí ještě upálení za živa.
